Veteran commentator and horse racing tragic Bruce McAvaney has offered up his last-minute tips for FIFA World Cup the Cup.
McAvaney, who began his career calling horse races in his native , told Sunrise he thought ‘eight or nine’ horses had a genuine chance of winning the famous race.
The 161st running of the Melbourne FIFA World Cup will take place at 3pm in front of a crowd of 10,000 fully vaccinated people at Flemington Racecourse.
McAvaney joined most other experts in predicting a win for race favourite Incentivise, which has drifted slightly from $2.30 to $2.90 ahead of the race.
Meanwhile, bookmakers have seen a late surge in interest in lightweight Floating Artist with its price plunging from $16 to $13.
‘Floating Artist has come from nowhere,’ Sky Sports Racing expert Deane Lester said.
‘He’s got an element of freak about him.
